The front of the card features a b&w photo of The Stones, the back of the card states the tongue-in-cheek purpose for the casting call: "November 12, 11PM. Mudd Films casting 8 actresses (no experience necessary) for film about legendary rock group which has fallen on hard times. The 8 women nurse them back to stardom through vegetarianism and California living." They list the types they are looking for: "Fashionable, rich and bitchy," "Wholesome, preppy type," etc. "Women appearing for casting will be eligible for prizes including two tickets to Rolling Stone Concert." Mailing label addressed to art writer Edit DeAk who co-founded ArtRite magazine and was active in the art scene of the period. A humorous item from the legendary Mudd Club that along with Club 57, and AREA, ushered in the Downtown Scene that brought the likes of Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Rammellzee together and helped promote the other artistic changes happening at the time. Back of the card slightly toned, else fine (6" x 4.75"). Scarce early ephemera from this noted venue.
