Large 4to. Broadside reproducing the holograph manuscript of this musical score with words and music by Lew Welch for voice, bass, and drums. Printed in black on thin brown stock. A humorous song exhorting people to write graffiti: "Graffitti of the world, unite! The world, write! On ev'ry wall in sight: Fuck Shit Piss Screw I Love You." Welch goes on to describe drawings and other sentiments that might be found on bathroom walls. This copy came from Don Allen's personal possessions and was gifted to a lover. Allen was Lew Welch's literary executor and noted publisher of Beat authors and the seminal anthology The New American Poetry that brought Beat, Black Mountain, and other avant-garde writers to a larger audience. A true rarity from Welch, an important Beat poet who was also active in the '60s hippie counterculture. OCLC turns up only four copies. Fine (13" x 9.75").
