Item #SKB-16675

An LA street scene featuring an image of the Star Cafe sign with a movie billboard in the background. Printed in black and gray on thick white stock. One of 26 numbered copies signed by Price dated 1982, this being copy No. 1. In the corner are three different chops including the artist's. This image was originally used to illustrate a cycle of poems by Harvey Mudd and was included in the portfolio of prints that accompanied their book "Plain of Smokes," an ode to LA published in 1981 by Black Sparrow Press under the fictitious imprint Arabesque Books. This is Black Sparrow publisher John Martin's personal copy (though not indicated in any way). Matted in a white hinged "presentation" matte so that you can lift the top matte to see the print in it's entirety inside (it can also be framed in this matte). On the matte beneath the print is the Black Sparrow logo and the letter "A." As new (print measures 14.75" x 12.5").
