Vancouver: Image Bank, .
First edition. Original publisher's box with an illustrated label affixed to the top stating "Greetings from Image Bank B.C." The box contains 93 cards (including 6 duplicates), by 49 individual artists, and 14 collectives. Individual artists include Ray Johnson, Geoffrey Hendricks, Joseph Beuys, Gary Lee Nova, Eleanor Antin (boots card), Ken Price, Tim Mancusi, John Willenbecher, Klaus Staeck, William Farley, Jeff Berner, Sally Peanut, and many others. Collective contributors include General Idea, Ant Farm, and Image Bank. Since there is not a definitive checklist we hesitate to say with complete certainty that the set is complete, however we strongly suspect that it is based on the terrific provenance. This set was given to one of the artists as a gift for their participation and it's been in their possession since 1972. Finding a better set would be near impossible given how infrequently this appears on the market. The importance of this work is examined by Zanna Gilbert in her essay "Circulatory Visions: The Image Bank Postcard Show," published in the book "Image Bank" from the University of British Columbia. A true rarity and the ne plus ultra for collectors of artist postcards. Fine (few tiny spots to top of box).
