Culver City, CA: Kent Records, 1962.
LP record. Rudy Ray Moore (pseud. for Rudolph Frank Moore) was a comedian, singer, actor, and film producer most famous for creating the character Dolemite, the pimp from the 1975 film Dolemite and its sequels. He developed this character on his early comedy records that often featured profanity-filled rhyming poetry that later earned Moore the nickname "The Godfather of Rap." He came to be regarded as a major influence by many later rap stars with Snoop Dog remarking that "without Rudy Ray Moore, there would be no Snoop Dog, and that's for real." In this, his second LP, Moore devotes the entire record to beatniks with routines such as "Beatnik and the Grave Digger," "The Beatnik Fairy," "Beatnik in Frisco," "Beatniks at the Peppermint Lounge," and more. Eddie Murphy portrayed Moore in the 2019 film "Dolomite is My Name." Near mint record in very good plus jacket.
