NY: Cafe Cino, 1968.
4to. "Monuments" consisted of 8 monologues by di Prima directed by James Waring. It was the last performance at the legendary Cafe Cino, a Greenwich Village venue that was the first Off-Off Broadway theater. The Cino staged one-act plays by established authors, eventually presenting only new plays written especially for the tiny cafe by mostly young writers, many of whom were gay. Illustrated with a collage featuring di Prima, text reproduced in holograph, with a decorative border on two sides. Creased where folded for mailing, some offsetting to the back with just a touch on the front, very good. Scarce ephemera from the Cafe Cino that was just recently granted landmark status.
