The Mummy.
NY: Brunswick, [1959].
Item #SKB-16777
45rpm record in picture sleeve with a photo of a mummy (a still from the film of the same name that inspired this record). In 1959 McKuen (who wrote the words and music) and McFadden had a novelty hit with the song The Mummy that includes some references to Kookie (Edd Byrnes) and some hipster lingo. The flip side features The Beat Generation, a wonderful parody of Beats and beatniks done to a jazz background. The record has a couple of faint spindle marks to one label, else excellent, in very good, slightly wrinkled sleeve.
