LA: Wallace Berman, 1962.
Features an original photo by Berman of his beloved hand-printing press on which he produced Semina (and that he can be seen with on the cover of Semina Culture). Beneath the photograph is a handwritten message to his friend and Semina contributor, poet and publisher William Margolis. In part: "Bill / There is nothing I can contribute to Mendicant---It seems that anything I do in a creative direction ties into SEMINA & if I move toward other scenes I become, or rather the work becomes dormant & not valid as a piece to publish." Signed "W. Berman." Addressed in Berman's hand at the edge---also stamped and postmarked. On the verso the post office has added their "return to sender" notice due to insufficient postage, and the additional stamps required have been added. A much larger piece than usual measuring 6.25" x 7.75". Near fine.
