Broadside announcing Bob Dylan at the Masonic Scottish Rite Cathedral in Detroit, 1964.

Detroit: The Retort, 1964.

Item #SKB-13557

Original broadside/mailer issued by The Retort, a small, folk music coffee house in Detroit. One side is largely devoted to promoting Dylan's appearance at the Masonic Scottish Rite Cathedral and it features two photos of Dylan including one of him smiling! Also advertises upcoming appearances by Booker Bradshaw and Ellen Stekert at The Retort. The double-sided broadside is printed in orange on off-white stock, and dates from the period shortly after the release of Dylan's fourth album, and two weeks before his famous "Halloween concert" at New York's Philharmonic Hall. A true Dylan rarity from a small, obscure venue that likely produced a modest number of these---with very few surviving. The last one we handled was in 2007. Soft crease to one corner, else a bright, fresh copy (13" x 8.5").

Price: $1,250.00
