Semina, No. 2, 1957.

LA: Privately published by Wallace Berman, 1957.

Item #SKB-11535

The second issue of Berman's legendary handmade mixed-media periodical that was produced in various formats for nine issues from 1955-1964. This number is the only one that was bound as a booklet stapled at the spine. Published after Berman's first exhibition at Ferus Gallery in LA, an event during which he was busted for obscenity. Features an array of inserts tipped-in printing photographs, drawings, and texts, including contributions by Bukowski, Hesse, Trocchi, McClure, Berman, Baudelaire, Meltzer, Eluard, Altoon, Crews, et al. Berman's famous "city of degenerate angels" statement inspired by his obscenity bust is affixed to the back cover---though often lacking. Slight wear to covers, usual offsetting to some inserts, solid very good plus to near fine. A bright, fresh copy overall.

Price: $5,000.00
