Two-and-a-third pages on three quarto sheets. Postmarked Marina Del Rey, January 16, 1980. Kruger attempts to clarify details about an article that she submitted for Cover #3, and responds to Judith's suggestions about the piece. Kruger remarks: "I am unaware as to the deadline of Cover #3 and sorry that we missed speaking before I left the city. Judith, I feel the piece I submitted to be a good one. Your suggestions about making a spread of the picture are interesting on a graphic, formal level. If that is done---type could be surprinted on the photostat or the layout could read like so:" Beneath that sentence Barbara has done a small drawing indicating how she imagines the type and image would look together. She goes on to say: "I have considered cutting some of the lines of type. Whatever the 'style' I must know soon as I have the stat negative out here + of course the type could be reset perhaps larger if the lay out remains the same:" Barbara then does another small drawing to illustrate what she envisions. She closes by saying: "The other possibility is that of a dialogue. Richard Prince is coming out in Feb.---another is Jon Borofsky who is teaching at Cal Arts + Martha Rosler at San Diego." "Please contact me soon, as I am quite busy, as I'm sure you are...Let me know what's happening, Love Barbara." The hand-addressed mailing envelope is present. A desirable letter from the early part of Kruger's career, with art-related content and references to her peers. Creased where folded for mailing, some wrinkling to last page, else fine. Kruger correspondence with content about her work, especially from this period, seldom appears on the market.
