A pen and ink line drawing in red and black reminiscent of flames burning inside a wire cage. This is the original drawing that John Martin used to make a smaller serigraph print that he bound into special copies of Living on Luck. Signed by Bukowski in full beneath the image and dated 12-31-1963. This drawing, done only three years after Bukowski's first book, is from the period when he began to seriously explore visual art as a means of self expression. The image measures a substantial 8" x 5" on a larger sheet that is double matted to 18.5" x 15" and ready for framing. Fine. Bukowski works of this vintage have ceased to appear on the market.
